Set Goals
The first step is to sit down with the client and discuss business goals, the target audience, and the clients desires for the website. Whether it be simply a functional website or a multimedia entertainment experience, it is good to have a clear direction from the outset of the project.

Gather Content
After setting goals, we gather the content the client would like to present on the web. Whether it be brief information on the company, multimedia presentations, or data, having as much of this information in the beginning helps to build the model of the client's web site.

Navigational Model / Site Architecture
The next step is to prepare a layout of the pages and a navigational model of the site to see how the site should flow.

Review Navigational Model / Site Architecture
Once the layout and navigational model are complete, we sit down with the client to review the flow of the site to make sure it is meeting the business goals and desires initially discussed.

Initial Layout Design
Based on the previous step, New Horizons Design can prepare a detailed web flow chart to detail the pages, their function, and the pages where they link.

Review Layout Design
Next, we present and review the web flow chart.  At this time, any additional ideas for the project can be voiced and implemented into the plan.  Any additional information is welcome to further meet the client's goals and desires.

Graphical User Interface Design (GUI)
Finally, depending on the route undertaken by the client, several design ideas that will best represent their business can be presented to help brand their web presence.  Whether the design is based on a preexisting brand name or we help the client foster a new web identity, New Horizons Design will work diligently so that the client's company or organization will meet its objective.

Repeat and Modify
Depending on the complexity of the project, it may be necessary to repeat some of the previous steps before a finalized design can develop.  As the project begins to take shape, desires not previously expressed could possibly change the direction of the site.  We will assist the client as they work to achieve a final design flow.

Page / Application Build and Site Population
Finally, the site will begin its construction phase.  The site will begin to take form using specifications and details discussed in the previous steps.  We will incorporate any and all technologies and techniques decided upon during the development phase in order to enhance the final design.  The site will also begin to incorporate any database(s) (inventory, information, lists) the site will use.

Launch
Once the site has been prepared, a period of review and testing will follow.  This step is to work out the "bugs" that are possible in complex designs.  Once a project design is reviewed and approved, the next stage would be to launch the website at a previously agreed upon domain name.

Promote
A web site is only good if potential customers or clients can find it on the web.  New Horizons Design can help you optimize your site for search engines and help develop a healthy system of link partners so your webpage will rank highly.

Maintain
After launch New Horizons Design will work with the client to maintain the site, whether through an online editing package or via telephone or email.
